I installed one in my crawlspace a few weeks ago and it has been running constantly since then. It seems well made and heavy duty. I can barely hear the thing; I don't understand how anyone could complain about the noise, unless they installed it improperly. The unit itself is quiet. I live in the mid-South and don't understand why these aren't mandatory on all houses with crawlspaces. Not only do they prevent mold, but they also get rid of Radon gas. What's not to love?

This crawl space vent is performing great. It was installed three weeks ago. I like the adjustable humidistat feature and the 42 degree cut-off temperature sensor.
Easy To Use July 31, 2010

Installed two of these units in the crawlspace a week or so ago and there is already a nice improvement under the house.
With nothing else in the house running you can hear them, but they are no louder that the refrigerator running in the room above them so are not too bad.
Once I insulate the floor I would be surprised if I could hear them at all.

I had a somewhat complicated application (not a concrete block foundation/crawl space) but was able to adapt the device to a different situation. I intend to order another one for a different house.

I don't have a crawl space. I have a pre-war coop with a small bathroom window. It has been impossible to find a fan to fit it & there is no other option for venting moisture.This little machine fits perfectly. I turn it on when using the shower so I can't speak about efficiency in automatic mode.
